JAMES MILNER'S remarkable 39-game record that stretched over eight years came to an abrupt end in Liverpool's 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder scored from the spot to reduce the deficit at the end of the first half but Jurgen Klopp's men couldn't find an equaliser in Paris.

Not only did the defeat put Liverpool's Champions League knock-out ambitions in serious doubt, it also ended Milner's 41-goal run.
The former Manchester City man had not been on the losing side in which he had scored in the game since February 2010.
That stretch began when he played for Aston Villa and continued for Man City, England and the Reds.
The last time Milner lost a game in which he scored dates back to the 2010 League Cup final when Manchester United beat Villa 2-1.
