United boss Jose Mourinho confirmed: “The first thing I can say is that in every club, when a player is not playing it is a simple manager’s decision.
"In our club when a player does not play it is always because of the player is not behaving and has disciplinary issues. Of course that is not the case again.
"He has an important injury, I don’t want to risk by saying for how long he will be out but from the top of my experience I would say he is not playing this year.”
Sanchez was crocked in training yesterday and will miss a return to former club Arsenal, as well as the North West derby.

His well-documented struggles since arriving at Old Trafford from Arsenal last January have seen a winter exit touted.
Mourinho dropped the forward for the crucial Champions League clash against Young Boys and confirmed it was not due to injury after the match.
Paris Saint-Germain could swoop when the window opens, while Arsenal have emerged as shock contenders with the bookies.
Mourinho also issued an update on David De Gea's new contract, adding: “He wants to stay I want him to stay of course, he's the level of player Manchester United needs.
