Arsenal player ratings: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lucas Torreira shine in thrilling North London Derby

THE North London derby or The Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Show? You decide.

Arsenal's record signing led the line as he opened the scoring from the penalty spot early on and curled in a brilliant second to level things up after half-time.

Tottenham had fought back with two quick-fire goals from Eric Dier and a controversial Harry Kane penalty to lead at the break but Alexandre Lacazette and Luca Torreira secured a huge win.

Bernd Leno

Amid the uproar following Dier's equaliser, it is important not to overlook the howler from the Arsenal goalkeeper, doing nothing other than helping the header in. But did make some fine saves either side – notably to tip over Harry Kane's free-kick.

Shkodran Mustafi

The most assured of the three-man defence and made a couple of crucial tackles but was booked for a cynical foul before the break. Had an effort cleared off the line on the hour-mark as Arsenal looked to regain the lead before going off injured with 20 minutes to go.

Sokratis

Dived in needlessly a couple of times during the first-half, giving away the free-kick which led to Eric Dier's equaliser. Lost the ball in dangerous areas and was forced to lead the defence when Mustafi went off but did so relatively competently.

Rob Holding

Very unfortunate to be penalised for the Spurs penalty as he did not even touch Son Heung-min. Going to ground in the box like that always runs a major risk, though. Happy to make his way upfield and join in the attacks but then settled it all down when Arsenal regained the lead and the German got injured.

Hector Bellerin

This wing-back role suits him far more. Joined in plenty of attacks during a rampant first 30 minutes but his moment of the match came when he produced a sublime through ball in the build-up to Aubameyang's second. Got away with a thoughtless ball across his own box at 2-2, though.

Lucas Torreira

Might need a bit of a warm-up to get used to his first North London derby? No chance. The Uruguayan was right on it from the first whistle, breaking up play and making Arsenal tick. Topped off the complete performance with Arsenal's fourth, showing composure when through one-on-one.

Partnered Torreira well again as this pair continue to blossom under Emery. Got his customary yellow card – his fifth of the Premier League season – just after half-time but led by example with the armband again.

Sead Kolasinac

Like Bellerin, did well in his wing-back position. His first 'big' game for a while but appeared equally happy bombing up the line as well as helping out his defenders. Became a far more traditional left-back when it was switched to a back four in the second half.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Eyebrows would certainly have been raised when the team sheets were announced, especially after he was one of the few to make the long trip to Ukraine in midweek. Struggled to have any influence on the game and was dragged off at the break.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

What a finish. Took his penalty well, coolly slotting past Hugo Lloris, but his second was something else. On the move, under pressure and 20 yards out, the Gabon international curled emphatically into the bottom corner to send the Emirates into bedlam. Oh, and then he slipped in Torreira to make it 4-2. Brilliant.

Alex Iwobi

Looked bright and dangerous down the left early on, linking up well with Kolasinac and always looking to create – although did lack the final touch of class once in the box. Dragged off at half-time with goals very much on Emery's agenda as Alexandre Lacazette coming on to partner Aubameyang.

Alexandre Lacazette

Came on at the interval with his side in desperate need of a goal. Fairly annonymous such was the brilliance of the main man up top and had barely had a kick before his goal. Held the ball up well, turned inside and his deflected effort nestled into the bottom corner.
