Chelsea star Eden Hazard hails Man City… and reckons the only missing ingredient is himself

Ahead of tomorrow’s showdown at Stamford Bridge, Hazard said: “I think City find more solutions in their play than we do.

“The only thing they don’t have is Eden Hazard! That is the difference.”

Hazard spoke out following Wednesday’s shock 2-1 defeat at Wolves which left Maurizio Sarri’s men ten points behind runaway leaders City.

And he clearly fears the worst with Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering team up next.

He told Belgian broadcaster Play Sports: “Chelsea have plenty of possession, but we often have to rely on individual actions to score goals.

“City are all about team play. You can see a lot of movement from them that creates spaces.

“They get their crosses in and they create more chances, score more goals and have more answers.”

Hazard’s comments reflect his mounting frustration at the lack of creative support he is receiving from his team-mates.

He was hoping Sarri’s appointment would help to turn Chelsea into Premier League contenders after finishing 30 points behind champions City last season.

But they are already out of the title race with more than five months of the season still to run.

And failure to secure a top-four finish again would be the final straw for the former double Footballer of the Year who turns 28 next month.

His comments will certainly alarm the Stamford Bridge hierarchy who are desperate for their star player to commit himself to a new long-term contract.

Hazard has 18 months left on his current contract and knows Chelsea are ready to hand him a new one worth around £350,000 a week.

But the £90million-rated midfielder is also aware of Real Madrid’s constant interest and does not want to commit himself to Chelsea if he does not believe they are going to be competing for major honours.

Sarri slammed his players after their Molineux defeat, questioning their commitment and arrogance.

The Italian has growing concerns over the form of £58m striker Alvaro Morata, whose confidence appears to be shot after a series of unconvincing performances this season.

Willian, Cesc Fabregas and Andreas Christensen also failed to take their opportunity to shine on Wednesday night and are likely to be axed for the City clash.

Left-back Marcos Alonso was also singled out for criticism by some Blues fans this week and he admitted: “We’re not doing very well at the moment.

“In the last few games we have not been loyal to our style of play and as a team we have got to get better collectively.

“We are going through a difficult time and know we have to work very hard and stay together.
