Arsenal player ratings: Hector Bellerin shines but Alexandre Lacazette struggles as Gunners finally break down Huddersfield

ARSENAL extended their unbeaten run to a remarkable 21 games with a routine victory over Huddersfield at the Emirates.

After a frustrating first half, Unai Emery again made the changes at half-time.

He took off Stephan Lichtsteiner and Alexandre Lacazette for Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the break as he need some attacking flair.

The Gunners huffed and they puffed and finally – FINALLY – they got the breakthrough when Lucas Torreira acrobatically volleyed from a matter of yards.

Bernd Leno

Unsurprisingly a rather quiet afternoon for the German goalkeeper. But when called upon did exactly what was required.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Came in for the injured Rob Holding on the right side of the back-three. Booked for his angry reaction to a shocking Danny Williams tackle on Torreira. Taken off at half-time as Emery looked for the win.

Shkodran Mustafi

In Koscielny's absence has taken on a new leadership role few thought he could. Did not show when he threw himself to the ground in the Huddersfield box. Limped off in second half.

Sokratis

Received a deserved yellow card for a crunching tackle on Jonathan Hogg on the halfway line. Only one of the three centre-backs to complete the game as Emery switched from a back three to a back four at half-time.

Hector Bellerin

Again, looks to be enjoying this right wing-back role. Got involved with plenty of attacks and linked up well with Lacazette up front.

Matteo Guendouzi

Another solid performance from the young, balloon-inhaling midfielder. Let his feet do the talking this time around as he continually tried to break up play and look to create. Became the third Gunner booked for diving late on.

Lucas Torreira

Deployed in a slightly more attacking role than he has been used to since arriving at the Emirates in the summer. Let fly from 25 yards in the first half but Lossl did well to palm it away. But made the difference with a spectacular overhead kick to win the game.

Granit Xhaka

Returned into the midfield from his suspension at Old Trafford and returned to his usual game of breaking up the play in midfield. Inexplicably booked for a stupid dive when breaking through in midfield.

Sead Kolasinac

Solid again at left wing-back, getting into good positions but just struggled to find the crucial final ball at times.

Alexandre Lacazette

Missed a glorious chance with 30 minutes gone as he slipped at the crucial moment and his effort went well over. Held the ball up well and linked up with Aubameyang. Thought he had scored the opener when he rounded Lossl but was flagged offside.
