Former world record signing Pogba has been told to up his game after a string of lacklustre performances.

Meanwhile fellow Frenchman Marital has failed to shrug off an injury and has been left out of the squad.

United are expected to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation against the Cottagers, who are bottom of the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho played with three at the back against Arsenal, but Ashley Young returns from suspension at left back, Diogo Dalot plays on the right and Phil Jones and Chris Smalling make up the centre-back pairing.

Victor Lindelof took an injury rehab trip to Dubai over the week with his wife Maja and was given drills to do with a groin problem.

Meanwhile Alexis Sanchez has been allowed to head back to Chile with a hamstring problem, with his attitude and mindset constantly questioned since his move from Arsenal 11 months ago.
