Dear Samford Friends;
First, I want to thank the entire Samford Community for their support of Samford Football. I am not going to identify specific groups because I would probably leave somebody out, but the support on game day this year has been great. Thank you to all the groups who are making an effort before, during and after the game.
A great event has been the tailgating on the Quad starting with the Bulldog Walk two hours and 15 minutes before kick-off. This event is greatly appreciated by our team. We want you to make it special and help it continue to grow.
If you are part of an organization I hope that you set up early with your tents, barbeques and entertainment Saturday and enjoy tailgating on the quad.
Next, the atmosphere during the game has been noticeably better. The support from the crowd is growing and our team feeds off the energy and enthusiasm of the student section. We want you to keep that up and our plan is to continue to give you things to be loud about.
Please make an effort to have an impact this Saturday at 2:00 versus Gardner-Webb.
We know that these changes did not happen overnight. Many people have worked tirelessly to get the ball rolling in these areas. We thank all of those that have helped create this “Game Day” atmosphere. We ask those that have not been involved to come out this Saturday and enjoy the Samford Game Day Experience. We are proud to represent you and Samford University. I hope to see you and your family this weekend on the Quad and at the game.
