Sigma Chi wins Step Sing 2015

Sigma Chi celebrates after their show, Alley Cats, wins Sweepstakes.

The brothers of Sigma Chi took home the coveted Sweepstakes award for their 2015 Step Sing show “Alley Cats.” Sigma Chi also took home all three judges-choice awards for excellence in music, choreography and creativity, and the participants’-choice award for choreography.

The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi took home second place, and the independent men’s group Dudes-a-Plenty (DAP) took third. DAP also won the participants’ choice awards for music, costumes and most entertaining show.

Step Sing 2015 raised $10,863 for Morningstar Foundation as part of its projects in China. Alpha Omicron Pi won the philanthropy award for raising the most money out of all 15 participating groups. AOII raised $2,925 and are repeat philanthropy winners.

Senior journalism and mass communication major Halley Smith won Spirit of Step Sing for her role in the Alpha Omicron Pi show “The Missing Piece.”
